This full-time position is with the Oregon Water Resources Department (OWRD) located in Pendleton. The OWRD is the state agency charged with administration of the laws governing surface water and groundwater resources.  The Department’s core functions are to protect existing water rights, facilitate voluntary streamflow restoration, increase the understanding of the demands on the state’s water resources, provide accurate and accessible water resource data, and facilitate water supply solutions.  The Department serves the public by practicing and promoting restoration and protection of streamflows and watersheds in order to ensure long-term sustainability of Oregon’s ecosystems, economy, and quality of life.

This position represents the OWRD in a field location and is located in the Region Office. From the field location, the Assistant Watermaster responds within the North Central Region to water right disputes, informational inquiries, and complaints in a timely manner, thus preventing potential loss of crops, life or property.
