The Wyoming Attorney General’s office in Cheyenne, is seeking an attorney to represent the Wyoming State Engineer’s Office.  This attorney advises the Wyoming State Engineer and his staff on all aspects of Wyoming water law, as well as providing advice on public records and meetings, agency rule-makings, and during contested case hearings. This position also requires, when necessary, advice to the Governor, the Governor’s staff, and the Wyoming Legislature on matters related to Wyoming water law. Wyoming is a party to seven interstate water compacts, and this attorney advises the State Engineer on the implementation of those compacts and may be called upon to litigate claims arising from those compacts. Wyoming’s water is one of its most valuable resources and this position plays an important role in managing and protecting that resource.
